Wondering if our new 125-gallon fish tank can be upstairs or if it will have to be in the basement. The tank is 72 1/2" long x 18 1/2" wide. The tank and stand probably weighs around 300 lbs, water weight for 120 gallons is around 984, so lets say we have ~1,300 lbs total. The ranch house was built in 1960s; the floor joist's run parallel to the area that I would want the fish tank to occupy. The entire room is 12' x 23 1/2'.
