Hi All,

My builder is considering using AO Smith brand air conditioner and hot water heater for my newly contructed home. Do they make quality products?

A.O.Smith are one of the leaders with long warranties in the industry. I have one of thier gas fired hot water heaters.

My A.O. Smith natural gas 75-gal water heater started tinting the water red 2 years ago. By now the water, and the shower walls, are a darker red.

It was installed in 1993.

One of the plumbers giving me estimates guessed it was an A.O. Smith the moment I mentioned red tinted water. Your mileage may vary :-)

Now getting estimates for a tankless. Phew! A Rheem water heater would be $900, a TK-2 installation keeps climbing because of the location.
