My A.O. Smith natural gas 75-gal water heater started tinting the water red 2 years ago. By now the water, and the shower walls, are a darker red. It was installed in 1993. One of the plumbers giving me estimates guessed it was an A.O. Smith the moment I mentioned red tinted water. Your mileage may vary :-) Now getting estimates for a tankless. Phew! A Rheem water heater would be $900, a TK-2 installation keeps climbing because of the location. |
