Adding to insulation in my attic

03/14/2000 08:57 AM tnpeach

My house was built in 1985 with not enough R-value in the attic. We've been told we need to add to it. Does anyone know of a good "How to Insulate your Attic" book or pamphlet? Do I put insulation over the eave vents or no? I live in Central Florida where it is HOT and I am not sure what all I need to do. Thanks, Amy

Try this post and hunt around to find what you want. http://www.owenscorning.com/around/insulation/project/cathedralceiling.asp

Also try www.johnsmanville.com

Good luck.

Don't cover the vents. They serve multiple purposes.
