Allen Wrench

1958House - hi and thanks for posting back! What you found are Allen screws, sometimes called hex screws. Almost any hardware store or auto parts store will carry those wrenches, typically as a set of 6 to 12. I've seen them in pouches, on a keyring-type carrier, and in a plastic carrying case which grasps them by the longer length portion of the wrench. They'll probably be less than $10 for a good set. You'll definitely find the wrenches at the big-box home improvement stores as well.

Once you get them loosened and the fixture off the wall, good luck with your repairs! I think the newer fixtures will use small flat-tip type set screws. For that reason, you may want to ask a neighbor or a friend if they have a set of Allen wrenches you can borrow...saves a little money on gas and on tools you may not want to collect.

Regards! Jim D/West Point, VA
