I installing Classico Pavers on a 24 foot circle of sand wher a above ground pool used to be located. My intent is to eventually build a eight sided gazebo with a 24 foot diameter in this spot with the pavers being the floor. I would like to use aluminum columns as the post but do not know how I could secure them to the concrete piers wihich will be 18 inches deep in the ground under the columns. Any Ideas are most appreciated. |

Have you looked at the type of aluminum columns that you want to use to see how they are made to be attached? That should give you a starting point. |

Most aluminum columns are anchored using angle brackets that are attached to the concrete and screwed to the column. Then an aluminum base plate covers the angles. If you know the diameter of the columns before pouring the concrete piers you could also use galvanized anchors embedded in the fresh concrete and then screw the columns to the anchors. Go to: http://www.strongtie.com/fr_architect.html and choose the anchor that best suits your needs. Glenn
