We have an 8 year old water softener that we had the repair tech out to visit as it was filling with water (brine tank is within the larger tank)and he said that it was the brine tank that was leaking. He said the tank was under warranty, but the labour to install it ($400.00) was not. I asked him to leave the new brine tank which he did and we thought we could replace it ourselves. Does anyone know if this is a huge job (he said two men for a day to do the job) and if so is there a book/website that would show us how to do it? Thanks.
