Arcitechtural influence

04/10/2007 01:12 PM tiger7769

I am looking to find information on the influences that home builders used in the early 1900's. I would also be interested in finding information on exterior and interior influences.

I recently bought a house built in the early 1900's in Wisconsin. My husband and I are interested in taking the house back to its original style over the next several years. We just aren't very sure where to start. Any help in this project would be gratly appreciated.

Thank you,

Your most valuable resource may be a book by Nash called renovating old houses.

The influence predominant a hundred years ago would have been predominatly Benjamin Asher. I think the title was, the builder's companion

Excellence is its own reward!
