Several years ago we took up some old carpenting in our one room and then found tiles under them. Some of them were already broken from the tack strips being put down over them. We removed only the loose ones and left the others there and put down self adhesive tile over that. From I can remember we had cleaned over the area and before putting this down. Should we be concened about any health issues? We weren't aware that these could possibly be asbestos tiles and the house was built in 1962. We did not remove anyother tile that wasn't already loose. I can't send in a sample for testing now as it is covered by these other tiles. Any help you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Asbestos floor tile presents a fairly low risk, even during removal if excessive breaking and any abrasive removal is avoided. The floor tile covered with another layer has no risk of fiber release at all. Your management of the old floor was appropriate and safe. Don't worry.
