I don't know your company, Nutmeg, but if they are a Spray on Siding company, don't be too startled if the problems start at some point in the not too distant future. I sincerely hope they don't...but have your phone ready, your contract and the name of the company and phone number (if they still exist) within reach. You'll probably need it.

I would loved for this to have 'worked' for me -- it would have been worth every penny. But it did not last even 2 years. Now it seems it was a colossal waste of money that I am still paying the loan on.

I'm still holding out hope (maybe for a 2 more weeks ) that Greg Caturano will keep his word and fix it.

I guess I will see shortly.

I don't know anything about "Nutmeg", but perhaps, next time you speak with Greg Caturano (is he the owner?) if he is still not showing up, I would mention that I (You) had been in touch with your state division of consumer affairs at the office of the attorney General of your state. Personally, if it was me, I would call them NOW and let them advise you of how you should proceed. It might not do any good, but again, it might send him the message that you are SERIOUS! DOCUMENT everything.

My guy kept me on the string for months, until I started throwing out names of state agencies, dates of phone conversations and the like when I called him.

Contact a TV station and see if they would take on your story in a consumer segment. Speaking to a "person" is much more effective than e-mail if you want someone to pay attention to your story.

I am currently involved in a dispute with Wells Fargo Bank. I bought a house/cash ...they decided not to sell...long story. Anyway, I have written to congressman, senators, representatives, National Banking Commission, spoken to president of the bank...and I'm just warming up. I have just today contacted a TV and radio station.

If you want action, you can't be passive. They will walk all over you. Polite but determined...will usually work in your favor. Pick up the phone and call your State Division of Consumer Affairs. FIGHT!

Amber...one more thought. It's very rare, but occasionally the organization with whom you have the loan might stand behind you and perhaps offer some guidance. Not likely, but the only thing you are risking is a phone call.

If you all go to the top of the page, Google ads, you can find Nutmegs` ad under Stop painting foever, I watched the video,...No comments from me on the product,...But, In all my expieriances in the trades, I can say that the thicker the spray on, the more likely it is to fail. I can also say that paints or other products, includeing PRIMERS, are only as good as the surface they are being applied to !! (should be cleaned, rinsed, sanded if nessecery, dry)

Hello, "oddball". (I thinks that's your user ID...sorry if I got it wrong).

You are right on all accounts except that I do believe that the thickness of the product is one of the factors that makes it last. On all areas of my home where there isn't snow accumulation sitting on the paint, and splash back from rain splashing off the roof onto the exterior wall shingles, the product has workked exceedingly well. My whole point, however, is that the guaranty says ":LIFETIME AND TRANSFERRABLE". If there is failure, then they have to honor the guaranty no matter where the problem is on the house. If they promise it, I EXPECT it!

Now, did they prepare the surfaces well? Well they sand blasted every square inch of old paint off the place. I think my problem comes in with the workmanship in that I found places that weren't primed at all, and places, like above the garage doors, where it had rained the day or 2 before, where I assume the shingles were still wet after the stripping. I was at work when much of thr work was dons so I suspect that's when the "games" began. When the cat's away...the mice will play...Potentially, I have high hopes that we will get many years still out of the job, I'm not totally confident though but I was able (with considerable wrangling for months) to finally get a painter out here to scrape and paint (did a poor job...but I couldn't be fussy at that point!!)

My advice to anyone getting a spray on siding job, check the recommendations, references and even BBB. Make sure the work is done in decent (not cold) weather and several days AFTER rain so things have had a chance to dry out, and WATCH the painters every minute because they tend to "overlook things" (like primer in spots around my home). I made it my mission, when I was home and the painters were here, to go over every inch visually, using the excuse of bringing out Cokes and brownies and even sandwiches. Feed them, keep them happy and watch them like a hawk. Let's face it, they don't care how well the work is done...they are after the bucks.

Do you mean the first foot or so off the roofline on the exterior wall siding ?

If your answer is ...yes... No product in the world will adhere there, cuz you got a different kind of issue !!

Place a four foot level on the bottom of a bunch of rows of siding randomly,...make sure the level don`t hit bumps or have bumps on it....slide it back and fourth to create a flatest point,...if the bubble hits or passes the LEFT line on the right side of the ridge,or the right line on the left side of the ridge,...post back, I`ll explain !!

I have already solved the problem (I hope). I hired a carpenter to cut 6" off the siding shingles up and down the 2 roof peaks and replace it with white, vinyl clad board, and seal it. Looks good...no more jagged (rotted) shingle bottoms and hopefully the rain won't splash up 6" all that often. Snow, well, if it accumulates, it will be higher than the 6", but at least the shingles will be wet less often.

Now you`re gonna hate me,...You`ve solved nothing if that board is sitting on the roofing shingles.

Some time when you get a chance,...Run a garden hose up to the peak, don`t wet the wall, after you`re up there, turn it on and let the hose sit on the roofing and run down the corner. Do`nt turn the hose up that much, While the water runs down the stepflashing, after about a half hour, check to see if there are streaks of water comming out in the middle or ends of the wall.

You can`t see this happening in the rain cuz the wall is already wety !!
