Band Saw Adjustments

06/29/1999 12:19 AM

I have an older Craftsman band saw. The blades keep breaking on me. I suspect that I do not have it adjusted right. What would cause the blades to continually bread. Blades are new and sharp and will snap within hours of use. This is getting expensive. Can anyone help me out?

Band Saw Adjustments

I too own an older Craftsman band saw (really old), but don't have any problems with the blades. Are you keeping the guard close to the wood? What are you cutting? What width of blades are breaking? Are you trying to turn the wood too quickly/sharply? Give me some specifics, and I'll try to help out, also if the band circumfernce is an unusual size I've got a website which will custom make bandsaw blades (I'll have to look up the URL).
