Please help...

Subject: Bathroom ventilation.

I live in an apartment building--"single/studio" unit-- where the bathroom has no windows or exhaust-port capabilities. The ceiling fan is only a sunken in box. This set-up is useless for removing steam or odors.

I will not leave the bathroom door open for ventilation due to the high-end electronic audio/visual equipment throughout my living quarter--ever here of rust & condensation.

Problem: On the outside of my bathroom walls are the enclosed common-area hallways.

Where else and by what means can I redirect the steam & odors? Do you have any solutions? I welcome any cutting & sawing you deem fit for the solution.

This should be the responsibility of the owner of your property.There is a fairly standard building/health code which requires a bathroom to have either a window or appropriate ventilation.Try to resolve the problem with the landlord before calling in the local building or health inspector.As a last resort,I would try to negotiate a deal to install an exterior exhaust fan wherever the current fan vents to, which is probably the roof.
