I just built a house and put in two Bilco-Scapewells. These are a plastic window well with steps that can have plants in them. They bolt right to the foundation. They beat the heck out of the metal corrugated ones, for appearances anyway. I have a Form A Drain tile around my basement footing so I ran a piece of 4 inch tile from the bottom of the well to the pea gravel surrounding my form-a-drain. Then I put a bunch of septic rock in the window well surrounding the tile I put in and lined the whole bottom of the well with the rock.
This gives water a easy an escape to the drain tile.
The scapewells I put in were $500 each. Installation was free cuz I did it myself. |
