Blinking

Some dimming of lights is expected when large motor circuits start due to the high initial current draw they require. If you feel it is excessive, have an electrician check for loose wiring in the service panel, or have the power company check the wiring on their side.
Do you notice some lights dimming and others getting brighter? If that is the case, then you may have a more serious problem with a loose or damaged neutral. Again, an electrician or the POCO can determine this for you.
