Bombay Chest

Hey 'chiz.

I just found (and caught up to) your podcast about a month ago. Great podcast! Thanks for showing us what is involved in "real" fine woodworking.

Anyway... Did I hear correctly near the beginning of the Bombay series that it was going to be a 250K piece of furniture?

I assume this piece is more intended for a museum or gallery of some sort?

Cool!

Hopefully you'll get a couple of buyers get into a bidding war :-)

How do you go about selling such a high end piece? Was it a commission, or are you selling it through an auction house???

selling my work

to be honest..i dont know how this will all turn out.i got ths oppunity after winning the providence show and once i decided to build the bombe i knew i was going to be putting my future on the line...its funny some really great people got behind me at bobvila.com and they all seem to believe in me so i am just going for it..my brother always tells me to just build furniture and the rest will take care of its self.so sorry i dont have a cool formula to tell you ...but i dont know how or who will buy my interpretation of this masterpiece ...i am just trying to complete the journey i started a year ago....its been mostly difficult but at the end i know it will be worth the agony....i did this piece for me...i just hope someone out there will appreciate it
