Bradford White combi-core

We are considering installing this system in our open concept house and are worried about the possibility of the motor being too loud. Does anyone have any feedback?

Seems like a good way to go, provided the combi tank is dependable. I would estimate a short life of less than ten years due to lime forming in the tank. This hot water heater has an internal copper coil that allows the floor water to pick up heat from the domestic hot water and at the same time keeps the heating water and the domestic hot water separate.

I might have recommended installing this unit some years ago; but not with oil at $3 or so a gallon. The max 76% efficiency is well below the required 82% minimum for boilers(and most oil boilers run at least 84% AFUE now.)

The Pinnacle oil boiler runs at 93% AFUE so delivers a full 13% more heat at little more cost.

So I'd buy a Pinnacle, or at least a conventional cast iron boiler for about the same money, then install an Ergo max to distribute the heat and make hot water isolated from the boiler water the same way as the Combicor would.

Yes, you really have to find out the MAKE and MODEL to get good answers. There IS more than one machine made.

If you are going to use a gas Combicor, the answers are near the same. Your question is unintentionally misleading because a Combicor isn't a system, just the heat source for heat and water.

You won't have a SYSTEM until you attach it to some form of terminal unit like radiant, baseboard or hot water coil. A water heater is suitable for radiant and low temperature designed baseboard; but not for systems that use water above 140F, as that would require mixing valves for the domestic water and different controls like a commercial water heater.

So further info is needed as to what you plan for the house to get a better assessment of need.
