Butt cut floor

09/12/2004 07:29 AM jimray

This morning 9/12/04 on Home Again I saw a floor being put down with what looked like
3x6x1/2 inch butt cut boards. They used glue to put in down with and then a grout. Do any of you know what the grout was made out of? I think they said saw dust and maybe glue.
Thanks for the help.

Here's the guy from the show....he sells the floor.....

Sized / Oil pre-finished / Beveled edges / End grain blocks......rubber-based adhesive........oil based sealer and sawdust

Hmmm........your flat boards won't glue or wear/warp the same as his end grain blocks.......and the T&G edges will hinder the "grout" application........sorry but it sounds prone to failure........
