I need to replace the hinges on my kitchen cabinets, but I have not been able to find hinges with the same mounting dimensions as the old hinges. I've looked at do-it-yourself centers, cabinet shops etc. Does anyone have any ideas on finding hinges with the same mounting dimensions?

I have had difficulties with hinge replacements where a given style with a unique mounting configuration has become less popular, and cabinet supply shops will stop reordering inventory once the demand for the style has dried up. With luck, you can at least bring an example hinge to a reputable hardware supplier who can identify the manufacturer and model for you, and you may then find that the hinge is still in production. (Here in Houston, TX, I know of a couple of reliable sources.) If very lucky, the manufacturer will make an exception to the typical minimum order requirements, and you can obtain replacements.

A more difficult scenario, lacking a viable replacement hinge, is that you'll have to do some rebuilding to the opening or some "engineering" of the door mounting. If you get to that point, I can offer some tips, having been down that path, too.
