I hate the color of our roof shingles. Can they be painted without damaging the shingles? And if yes, what kind of paint is best for this application?

I've run accross asphalt shingles over the years which have been painted...{on purpose AND by accident}. I've never seen evidence they were damaged......however, I imagine it's possible they could be damaged if you were to use an oil-based paint.

You might look into the idea of using a water-based white roof coating which can be tinted. Or just use a GOOD acryllic.
