I'm trying to run networked DSL up to a bedroom. My house is Cat5 homerun wired. I plug the cat 5 from the router into the RJ45 jack in the home office and I check the signal at the homerun box in the basement and I have a signal. I then use a connector to attach the home office feed to the bedroom Cat5 feed (unplugged from the phone service module). However, when I then plug into the RJ45 jack in the bedroom there is no signal. I know the jack works because I have used it for phone service. I also checked the pin connections at the jack and they seem fine. Does the signal degrade over a long run or any other Ideas? Thanks |
