I know that one of the ways to keep the coursed lined up and to speed up installation of cedar shingles used as siding is to use a ledger board. I'm good with the theory.
What I can't figure out is how you attach the ledger board to the course below without punching holes in it. Small nails that let the cedar material 'spring' back? Can anyone explain this seemingly simple process?
