Central Vacuum systems

11/12/2002 06:23 PM Sunnie

Hello, I have an existing central vacuum system in our recently purchased 20+ year old house. I cannot find the manufacturer of this system to get parts, etc. How do I do that? Sunnie

Hi - I'm guessing you looked on the unit and found the manufacturer's name, looked in the phone book, and didn't locate the manufacturer. (I'm also guessing it wasn't a joke...I'm sure Doug was just jesting...)

I'd recommend that once you do have the manufacturer's name and the model number of the unit written down, try calling any of the central house vacuum dealers/vendors listed in your local phone book. You may also want to try using Yahoo! or Google to search for the manufacturer by name.

Also, you could use Yahoo!'s business pages directory service to locate central house vacuum dealers/vendors in larger cities reasonably close to your location in FL. Many of those dealers/vendors have sources for parts from many different manufacturers, and may even know whether or not the manufacturer of your unit is still in business.

It may take several phone calls, so be patient. Good luck!

One of the best search engines on the web is: http://www.google.com/

Try searching for the manufacturer there. If no luck, may have to replace the central vacuum unit.

I think I should have made myself clearer in my posting, as I have done MUCH research in trying to find the manufacturer of my machine, but to no avail.I have all the serial #'s etc. So I then contacted a local dealer and he is too, is trying to find me the parts I need.
Doug, get a life!
