I have a 1/2 hp Craftsman chain drive, billion code garage door opener 139.53648SRT2 made in 8/98. It came with two (3)button remotes and I had it programmed into the homelink system on my Chrysler vehicle and my boyfriends chrysler vehicle. Now we have seperated and I do not want him to have access to the garage. I have figured out how to erase all the codes so that the only way to open the door is from the hard wired wall button. But everytime I try to reprogram the remotes, it activates the homelink button in my car again which leads me to believe that his would work as well. I have been told that I should buy new remotes and that would solve the problem. So I went to Sears and the salesman told me I did not need to do that. He said to just unplug the unit for 10 minutes, then erase the codes and reprogram the remotes. I tried this and still it reactivates the homelink with the same code. I purchased a keyless entry pad thinking that it would offer a different code but he sold me the wrong one. The one he sold me is for a 315mhz and I think I need one for a 390mhz? I am frustrated and desperate for the correct information. Please help if you know how!!!!! |

From my cross reference that is a billion code system. But by the date it should be a Security plus unit.
What color is the Learn button on the back of unit.
And I don't know anything about the HomeLink system.
You might want to contact the manufactor's tech support.

Or the tech support here.

They sell the keypads on their website (as does Chamberlain). But I am afraid to give you a specific model number because I am not sure of your model.
Here is the Sears cross reference. |

Yes, that is a billion code unit.
This is a manual for a unit that uses the same replacement control board. Your unit might have more or less lights or other minor differences.
I am not sure, but I seen comments that imply that the for the billion code system the remotes come fixed with a code and can't be changed. If that is the case then you need to replace the remotes and then earase and reprogram for the new one(s).
You can try removing the batteries from the remotes and press the button to use up an power. Then wait a couple of minutes before replacing the battery.
But if the code is built in it won't do any good.
You might verify this with with either Chamberlain or AAARemtoes.
Here is a link with replacement remotes.
