is there an efficient way to sift through borken cement pieces in dirt? I'm trying to get as much of the broken cement cleaned up as I can. Perhaps something that was used to sift for gold?

Get "hardware cloth" and attach it to two 1bys so that that they rest on each side of a wheel barrow with the hardware cloth streched across the wheel barrow.

Then shovel the dirt in onto the wheel barrow and the dirt will fall through and it will catch the rocks.

H.C. is availabe with all different kinds of spacing. Smaller one will catch more rocks and concrete, but also clog up with more from the dirt. Specially if you have hard clay.

So you might want to try starting with 1/2" or 3/4" if it mostly larger chunks.

Also, specially if it is mostly on the surface you can use a rake. And there is tractor attachments that will drag the surface and collect rocks. Don't know of the term.

And you can bring in more dirt and cover it up.

Depends on the extent of the problem (size and depth of the rocks), the size of the area, how clean it needs to be, etc. as which way or combination you will go.
