I did. I believe there are two versions of the whirlpool kenmore. Mine has clips at the bottom of the kick plate and a lint filter beneath the door. The other (which was what was in the other links if I read correctly) has clips at the top of the kick plate and a lint filter on the dryer top panel. The picture I linked to looks like mine. If I'm missing something here please let me know!

I tried the flat screwdriver to the middle and it didn't pull the clamps out.. If you can help I'd sure appreciate it! |

Access panel removal |

On that model the lower access panel looks to be able to be removed by pulling the top of that panel *away from the cabinet* and then lifting it off the two lower support spring clips. Optionally, sometimes a putty knife can be inserted between the side of the cabinet and the edge of the access panel and twisted to work the panel free toward the top.
BTW. The use of a screw driver may chip the paint. A putty knife is usually a better tool to use if needed.
