Tommy,
I had learned that technique you do on top of the legs, another thing I learned was on each side while the legs are together to make carpenter triangles using different color pencils. You could use while on the front, red for the back, dark blue for the left side and light blue for the right side. This way at a glance you can see what side your a working on and which end is the top of the leg. Just something I thought I would pass along.

Hey that was good. Once I figured out how get some 3-dimensionalty (gotcha T-Mac-haha)I was rock'in.
I watched it once through then skipped through the second time. Didn't realize we would shade the bellflowers too and the little dots...very cool. Didn't realize that one leg we'll do as an overlay and glad to see an arc in the stringing. Just super learning one video out.
Don't ask me why but for some reason I'm thinking hand tools first must have been Al's history lesson, and I got confused when T-Picasso drew the side view of the mortice chisel, I'm thinking, my mortice chisel doesn't look like that, what the heck???....on the 2nd view I realized he drew the hollow mortice chisel and the first mortice cut was a depth to the top of the arced cutting edge...aaahh the little lightbulb. That smooth little teaching move to Al got me to see right away we have to start the taper low enough for the banding and finish planing. The podcast was very good.
Yo Chizz........Gigi gets updates everyday, I've been showing her all the pictures, what guys have started. She's a very informed Rough Cut project observer. Loves the bellflowers.
