I currently have a 20' wide by 21' deep carport that I want to convert to a 2 car garage. I can add 8' to the depth, nothing to the width and fit a 17' wide by 7' tall door for about $20k. To gain width I can add 5' and this will entail a new roof over the carport and I could go with an 18' wide by 8' tall garage door. This is about $45k. Any thoughts on which you would do. I can think of a lot of ways to spend the $25k savings on other house projects. Thanks
