Corner miter cuts

06/10/2005 07:00 PM GrampaBuzz

I am attempting to cut inside corners with my miter saw. I am using 1/4 round stock and make 2 45 degree cuts. The pieces don't fit together for my horizontal ceiling. Fitting them together leaves one side sloping down.
What am I doing wrong???

The corner is not 90° more like 88° or 89° that is why most people only cut one piece the molding and cope the other to the corner to match the profile of molding in this case ¼ round.

Be sure you are setting your molding in your saw the same way it will go in your ceilling. I have to set mine on edge so the flat side that will rest against the ceiling is facing up
