Had a pretty bad lightning storm and garage door has not worked since. Light on door opener will come on when I push the button but no motor and lights on sensors are not on as well.
Is this thing toast and if so why didnt it blow out the bulb. Can it be repaired? Is there a reset button inside? HELP!!!!!

Lightning damage |

The problem with lightning damage is that it can take out one electrical component and skip the next one, but damage the 3rd one in line.
Replacement control boards are about $75. But you might also need new motor and/or new sensors.
Here are a few links for parts.

Note- Liftmaster makes the Craftsman openers and many parts are common.
There is an external reset and depending on the model it might be hidden under the light cover.
Also you might try unplugging it and let it set for 30 minutes. Probably won't fix it, but depending on the type of electroncis that they use in the control sometimes that will reset it if it just got "confused" rather than damaged.

We had a hevy storm and the circuit breaker blew. We reset the breaker and the openers have no power. We tested the outlets and they are all good. Any help would be great. |
