Craftsman mower - not getting gas to engine

04/24/2002 08:06 AM tammys

Hi,
We have a craftsman lawn mower that's only about 5 years old.
We are having problems getting gas to the engine. It will get started (using ether), but then, will die.

Do we need to clean the fuel line?
I had it serviced last year and wasn't too happy with the end result and fear they may have screwed it up.

Just curious what might be causing this to happen and if it's fixable by the right person.

Thanks in advance for your suggestions.

see if the choke is stuck closed
if there's a fuel filter, see if it's clogged

Remove the fuel bowl at the carb and check that the very small holes are clear. Also will enable you to clean out and crud.
