ceiling beams

03/21/2004 08:46 AM mageolson

I live in Phoenix. I am looking for "fake" ceiling beams. I believe they are made from styrofoam or they come 3 sided and are hollow.. I would also make them myself if I knew how. Thanks

I have used several of their product, to cheers from my customers and never a comment that they looked fake. This is on multimillion dollar homes. The Fypon products are formed from actual wood built to details from century old buildings.

I have no fiduciary intrest in Fypon. I simply use the product and find it very satisfactory. the Responce web site you link to is very interesting and has some nice looking work, but i wonder if you have a financial interest in promoting that product line, given your screen name here. Is your product so weak in strong attributes that you feel compelled to demean another product? Surely you could have worded that differently so as not to come across as a cheapie, trying to drum up business. Maybe sell your product based on it's own merits?

What I am looking for actually go on across the ceiling. The look just like plain wood beams. We have a south western style home and decor. Thanks, maggie o

Faux beams

If your local lumberyard does not have faux beams at an affordable price, try some of these websites.

There are a few companies that compete in this market. Some of are Response, Fypon, and Balmer.

To shop for something specific give froogle.google.com a try. One store you might try online is incrediblehome.com. They sell Fypon but not the other two companies I mentioned.

Rustic Beams ---- Superior Building Supplies

04/11/2005 11:18 PM countrygirljaxs

Last year I looked all over the place for rustic beams. I finally found a place. The website is www.superiorbuildingsupplies.com

They are a great company, in fact they posted a picture of my home in their beam gallery!

Their customer services couldn’t be any better or friendlier.
