Does refinishing bathtubs, tile, etc. really work?

11/11/2005 11:48 AM dch245

We're looking into buying a house that was built back in the 70's. One of the bathrooms has that green tile, the green tub, sink and toilet. We don't like it.

Would it be better to have the tub and tile refinished in a different color or torn out and replaced with a wrap around and tub? There is more tile other than just around the tub that we would want done over. The sink and toilet's no problem. Just replace. If only the tile/tub were that easy!

I've heard of tub/tile refinishing but don't know how well it works or looks or how expensive it is. Any input?

refinishing bathtubs

We bought and fixed up a home to sell and re-glazed the tub. It looked absolutely beautiful - without doing so, we wouldn't have sold the home and it only cost about $300. CANADIAN. Well worth it and I would do it again, without any hesitation.
