Door or Opener

The problem might be in the door or it might be in the opener.

Disconnect the door and see door work smoothly and without extra effort. It should be balanced so that if you open 1/2 way it will stay in place when released, 2/3 and it will continue to open, 1/3 and it will do back donw. If not you need to get the spring tension adjusted.

And feel for any catching or sticking. Might have worn out rollers, loose hinges, mis-adjust or loose track.

Then try the opener without the door. Watch for any stickness or roughness in operation. Check the tension on the chain/belt (if you is that style). Check for any looses where the rail connection are. Check for need to lube the rail (or screw if that type).

If all of those things check out OK then the Up Force Limit on the opener might need to be increased a little.
