Just moved into my first house, which was built in 1925. I assumed that it had plater walls, but found that it in fact has drywall thru out. I was curious when was drywall first used and how dose the original stuff compare to todays material?

I think that drywall was first used in the late 40's and for sure in the 50's. It sounds as if your house was gutted and then redone with drywall. I am not sure if the old stuff is better or worse than what is used today but I know for sure that the finishers were better in the past than they are today.
