Electrical Connection of a Dishwasher

11/04/2002 04:09 PM annagirlla

I was given a dishwasher by a friend who moved a bought a new one. I have gone out and bought all the adapters to make it work with the sink. I now have one problem; THERE IS NO CORD. Just wires. I do not have any where to connect them except the plug that powers the 'fridge and everyone says don’t mix the two appliances. The only place for the damn thing in my 1920 cottage is by the 'fridge. I am going crazy with all the dishes and such a small kitchen. I need a washer but how do I connect it! Can I convert the wires into a cord that I can plug in a different outlet? Somebody help me!!

Electrical Connection of a Dishwasher

I assume this a portable dishwasher (one that can roll across the floor and has covers on all sides)? It should be no trouble to attach an appliance quality electric cord to the unit. If that cord is too short to reach the another outlet in the house, you could use a heavy duty extension cord and plug into another circuit. Don't use one of those cheap little lamp extension cords.
