Some friends and I want to build a 1000 sq. ft. summer house with an elevation of 10' above ground since we are a few hurdred yards from the Gulf of Mexico. We think that using pilings would be the easier way but wonder how far to set them in the ground and if concrete would be needed in the hole. It would be about a 30' X 36' camp and we are unsure of how many piling would be needed and the spacing. Anyone with any advice on doing this type of foundation, please contact me.
