Espresso wood stain? |

The color "espresso" is being used on alot of furniture these days. I can't seem to find this color anywhere. Is this an item blended by the manufacturer? Is it simple enough to just blend different stains till the right color appears? Or is it not a stain? Any help is appreciated. |

...makes a stain called, oddly-enough, Espresso. I've used it a couple of times with good results. If that isn't exactly your idea of espresso, they also make one called Java that's a bit browner.

Rockler carries these at their retail store and online. Around here, at least, many "unfinished furniture stores" carry a rack of General Stains.
I have also matched my own by trials, a dark red understain, followed by a thinned black enamel. |

I was looking at all the major names and could not find this color ANYWHERE! Thank you! I just bought an excellent 9 drawer dresser at a garage sale this weeking, and I want all expresso in my bedroom. It will make it easier to match a new bed, etc to the dresser! Thanks again. General Finisher retailer, here I come! |

Espresso stain ... on kitchen cabinets? |

You mentioned in this thread that you had "finished" your kitchen. Do you mean that you used the Espresso stain on your kitchen cabinets? If so, are they wood? What was the color before? My cabinets are medium (ugly) pine cabinets. I'm trying to decide whether to replace or re-stain the cabinets. The espresso would be a darker color, so maybe it would work. What prep work did you do? Thanks! Betty |
