We are building a new house outside of Houston and are going with a flat roof. In keeping with the look it would be more pleasing to the eye to not have an attic and keep the roof line closer to the ground. Since we are considering either an 9 or 10 ft ceiling already. Thoughts ? Suggestions? Why should we or shouldnt we do it? Thanks

It is common to not have an attic with flat roofs.

However, if you are desigbning this yourself, check with AHJ. some places still requirea design that allows for ventilating the roof itself
