A girfriend of mine is moving into her first house and she has no tools or supplies. What is a basic checklist of item/tools she should have on hand? Ex: lawnmower, cordless screwdriver, hammer..etc

As far as the tools go she could need a lot of things, but maybe if you could get one of those tool kits where everything is in one case. That might be a good place to start.
But if I may suggest. If she is going to have the house inspected make sure she goes through the house with the inspector. If she hasn't found one yet, maybe she can ask how helpful they are during the inspection process. Some may explain things better than others so she can get some basic knowledge of how her new house will work.

I'd say
A good screwdriver set
Hammer
cordless drill driver(maybe even a kit with a saw too)
drill bits
wood chisels
speed square
socket set
channel locks
pliers
tape measure
2 ft level
caulk gun
duct , electrical and painters tape
6 ft ladder
assorted paint brushes
paint roller and tray
and i'd say a little assortment of nails screws and picture hangers and anchors
