Flexible venting?!

Was it flexible venting? That stuff should be avoided at all costs IMO.

** Any advice on a vent cleaning tool? **

You can see a couple of options linked toward the end of the page at the following link. Two manual brushes (different lengths) and 1 mechanical vent cleaning system.
