Nick: Floor levelling compound is likely to break apart with movement in the wood subfloor itself unless you use a wire mesh system. If it's that important to get it in line you could opt for using different thickness of plywood and taper it back to regain some sort of uniformity and place 1/2" ply over that. Ken Fisher
