That was never featured on Home Again. It must have been a project
from This Old House. However, I have done some research and found out
a little bit about how these windows work. Liquid crystal is inserted
between two sheets of glass. When a switch is flipped the liquid
crystal is heated up causing the window to become opaque. The cost is
quite high -- somewhere around $300/sq. ft. plus the cost of the
conductor. For more information call Classic Glass at 800-660-1214.
They have information on the product which they would be happy to
send out to you. |
