If all the ducts are OK, and the unit is heating, then you are in the twilight zone. One might then assume that the heat pump is not heating. As it is cooling the house down instead of heating it up, you probably feel like being in a meat locker by now; if not; check the accuracy of the thermometer with another known good one. Also, your backup (second stage) heat strips might either not be there or they aren't working.

Yes, you really have to find out the MAKE and MODEL to get good answers. There IS more than one machine made.
