Garage door conversion kit installation instructions

02/01/2008 01:10 PM Risola63

I purchased a Craftsman #53683 remote control conversion kit for my garage door and have lost the installation instructions. When I called Sears to get a copy of the installation instructions they told me the conversion kit has been discontinued and that they do not have any installation instructions. Can anyone help me install and program my 2 remotes?

Sears garage door openers and accessories start with 139. so I assume that is model 139.53683.

I can't cross reference that to the Chamberlain modles. chamberlain makes the Sears opers.

I might be able to from the remote model number.

Also Do either of remotes or reciever have ERTL, ((())), Security+ or other markings on it?

This list a number of different kits. Find one that looks similar to yours. Select it and download the instructions.

Thank you for your response. The 2 remotes have 139.53681B on them. Yes, they have Security+ as well. You mentioned a 'list' to check, where do I find this 'list'?

Sorry I copied and forgot to paste.

But based on your answer you probably have one of these kits.

Note you kit might have more or less remotes. And the remotes might have more than 1 button (to control other openers).

But none of tht affects the installtion or programing.
