Garage door transmitter receiver hook up

10/06/2007 12:53 PM rlwdmw

I have a garage door transmitter that no longer works. I bought a universal remote but can't find the correct wiring to attach the receiver wires. It's a 1992 Blue Max garage door opener. Can you help?

Garage Door remote SYSTEM

If you got a universal remote TRANSMITTER then you need to follow the instructions to set it up for your receiver. But not all receivers are support by any one remote.

If you got a universal remote control KIT then it comes with a transmitter and a receiver.

Most receiver have an adapter to plug into the wall (or ceiling) for power. And 2 low voltage wires. They connect wherever the manual wall mounted button connects.

The opener will have 2,3, or 4 terminals where low voltage wires are connected.

Look for the 2 wires that go to the wall mounted switch and connect the receiver to those terminals.
