I flick the switch on my garbage disposal and NOTHING happens -- not even an enigine hum. What are the steps I take to check this out?

Usually on the bottom, sometimes the side, there is a reset button. Try pushing in the button and then start the disposal. This reset will pop if you have a jam or sometimes when you run hot water instead of cold. You did check to make sure the house circuit breaker didn't trip???????

Boy, do I feel dumb. The reset button was just the trick. Thanks!
