I purchased Graef windows in 2000.
22 double hung, 3 attic casement, 1 picture window, 1 steel door and 1 garden window.
The windows began failing 2004-2005 winter and have continued every winter.
The double hung todate have had eleven windows loose the seal. 7 this year. A 50% failure rate.
The picture window also lost its seal. It makes me sick every time I look out through the condensation between the glass.
My local contractor replaced 5 in 2005 out of their own pocket.
Graef won't warrant the windows. They say the company was sold 2003 and my warranty isn't in effect. They have no obligation.
The Graef Window Co. has the same address, name and phone.
I am currently trying to negotiate with them. If that fails i may seek legal remedies.
In my opinion you should find a better quality window. Even if you have to pay more.
Check out the company. Ask for references and contact them. Talk to customers with windows that are over 5 years old.
I am looking at replacing all the windows in my home after only 7 years of use.
It cost me $16,000 in 2000.
It will cost more today.
I have lots of pictures. I included one of the picture window.
Good luck and buyer beware

I also purchased 17 Graef Double Hung replacement windows prior to 2005 and 10 panes have moisture between the glass. I contacted them and their reply was the warranty was worthless as they only purchased the companies assets and not liabilities. I contacted their BBB to no avail as it sounds as if they're in bed together. Funny they want the name, etc. but not the responsibility that goes with it. Beware Graef products |
