Hampton Bay Fan - 52 inch Huntington III - broken tensioner for shade

06/17/2005 04:24 PM ckubert

I purchased a Hampton Bay Huntington III for my son's room just over a year ago. Heard a ping and went to investigate and found one steel tensioner had broken and was laying on the table and the glass shade was hanging at an angle with only 1 tensioner holding it up.

Had to remove the shade or it could have slipped off and possible caused serious injury. Needless to say fans hang for 10, 15 and more years without ever having a problem. The fan is in perfect condition otherwise. I just need a new steel tensioner, but I can't find the part anywhere. I tried www.eceilingfans.com, but they didn't have any in stock and didn't know if they every would. Any other suggestions?

Thanking you in advance,

CK

Is a ********** house brand.

I know that some of them have long time warranty on them.
