Hard wood floors

08/22/2001 03:01 PM Jackie

I am planning to install hardwood flooring in 4 bedrooms (1master,3 kids room) but am not sure as to which would be better. I live in Florida and it has been recomemded that I not use the thick (1inch) wood floors due to the humidity. It seems the advice is to go w/engineered flooring (I prefer wood not pergo. Also one vendor has a product that has "Alumide" in the finish. What's better!? Thick wood, thin wood, alumide, no alumide... too many choices sometimes is not a good thing If anyone has any advice as to which companies are reputable I'd appreciate that too (Bruce, Harris Tarkett, etc...)
Thank you.
