Hardwood Underlayment |

I'm getting close to installing new hardwood floors in my house. I'm looking for some advice as to which type of underlayment would be best. I'm installing 9/16" engineered wood over existing hardwood. The underlayment between the current hardwood and the subfloor looks cheap so I want to add something better. Any thoughts? |

i,m not sure what you will be doing? do you plan to pull up the existing hardwood?(can it be refinished, that would save you money?) also how do you plan to install the 9/16" new hardwood floor,is it a floating, nail or glue down? pleas post your reply...thanks |

Thanks for the response. I'm going to nail the new hardwood over the existing hardwood. I can't refinish the current hardwood since it's top nailed (plus I got a real bargain on the new wood |

the best option for underlayment when you are to nail down a hardwood floor is plywood( well secured to the subfloor) a second choice is an approved o.s.b.,,,,dont use particle board..good luck |
